Philosophy and Focus
Dr. Disorbio is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, specializing exclusively in the evaluation and treatment of patients with chronic pain, severe medical conditions and all aspects of physically injured individuals. He is an expert witness and testifies in civil law suites as well as Workman’s Compensation disability cases.
Dr. Disorbio is a Co-Author of the Battery for Health Improvement 2 (BHI-2), an internationally psycho-medical test that measures the biological, psychological and social factors related to injury, chronic pain and various medical conditions. He is widely published in peer-reviewed journals related to chronic pain and injury. He has treated over 4,000 patients with chronic pain and injury.
He served on the Executive Board of the National Pain Foundation.
As a student he was an Academic College Football All American. He is a consultant for major companies, sports teams and presents often at International Pain conferences.
Dr. Disorbio’s philosophy focuses on thorough evaluation and treatment to assist patients with coping strategies and all aspects of re-crafting their lives.
He has conducted well over 700 pre-surgical psychological evaluations for orthopedic and neuro-spine surgeons. He also is experienced in pre-surgical psychological evaluations for pain medicine physicians.
